Although industrial productivity has grown exponentially in almost all sectors, we are witnessing a reduction in human productivity: people work more and often worse, with results not always related to the efforts made. It is as if we have not yet learned how to best manage the potential of the technological development at our disposal. It is as if we run around panting behind all our tasks, trying desperately and with enormous effort to keep up with processes of change faster than our ability to adapt.

Companies often become places where the excess of work does not turn into excess of results, places where it can be easy to get used to work so much and badly. Places where behaviors that worsen the overall well-being of people working there can be fostered. In this context, companies can do a lot to create technological and management systems that help people achieve high forms of productivity and well-being, as part of the overall search for human and business excellence.

A Lean Lifestyle Company, in fact, aims to create maximum value and to fully exploit its human, technological and organizational potential. It is not passively watching what happens around it but is committed to manage the current complexity and facing the changes in place to achieve great performance and at the same time it cares for the well-being within itself, Aware that this will bring well-being also outside the company itself.

A Lean Lifestyle Company generates prosperity through the ability to continuously innovate products, processes and business models, aiming at achieving maximum impact for itself, the market and society. A Lean Lifestyle Company does not tolerate the waste of resources in products, services and processes, always identifying the easiest and slimmest way to conduct business and guide people. A Lean Lifestyle Company fights against the misuse of people’s time and energy; it does not promote haste, but the maximum final speed of execution, hunting waste and work that does not add value, redundancy and rework, to unnecessary waiting and interruptions. It enthusiastically promotes involvement, integration, tolerance and mutual trust between people.

An old Japanese proverb says that vision without action is a daydream and that action without vision is a nightmare.

For this reason, we believe it is necessary to go beyond the level of mere intentions.

In this Manifesto we have collected and synthesized the Key Values and Behaviors that characterize a Lean Lifestyle Company. A true collection of good practices and operating principles for those who work and do business in today’s world. We hope they will be a guide and inspiration for anyone who wants to embark on the journey towards the realization of the Lean Lifestyle Company.
